It would have been interesting if RAF Scimitars had deployed to Singapore as part of the Borneo confrontation.

Warning ...Ideas Overload!!! Too Many Kits, Too Many Alternative Schemes ..........Wibble!

maybe some of the CGI artists could step up to that plate

Is that kit still available ? Saw it in my LHS awhile back but wasn't willing to fork out the $$$ for it...now I wished I had !

I was thinking FR like the Swift ? FGR is always cool, maybe just GR ?

Who knows !

The XtraKit injection Scimitar is Todd, for about 19 GBP at Hannants.  I wouldn't fork out 80 quid for the CMR resin kit though ----  I've got the XtraKit one in the stash, it's not too bad, same as their Spitfires for quality but if it's ultra accurate I wouldn't know --- or care for that matter ---

I've heard it's not terribly good...

Well, it looks like a Scimitar to me Alun, it can't be mistaken for anything else --- . And I think it was Wooksta that said it was based on the CMR kit so I'd rather pay the 19 quid for it not 80

I've built one and I was happy enough with it. For a kit with no locating pins I thought everything lined up fairly well and any errors were down to my relative modelling skills. I want to build another one (hence this thread) so it can't be too awful/horrible/ghastly (delete as appropriate)  I think it's probably a case of horses for courses?
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

Did some searching for reviews and the main gripe is with the kit's quality from what I can see.  I've not built mine yet so can't comment on that but it doesn't look too different to the Spitfire 22's or the Meteors I have too.  I haven't found any negative comment on it's proportions or accuracy though ----

Fair enough - can't argue with any of that! I haven't got one so can't comment - I've only vague recollections of negative noises in a couple of reviews I read years ago.

The Dynavector 1/48 vac is lovely, must build it some century.

I've got their SHAR, not bad. Probably should have waited for the Airfix kit tho, and bought 2......

Where's my beer ?

The Wooksta!

Xtrakit Swift, Scimitar, Canberra PR.9 and Spitfire 12 were all tooled by Sword.  The Spitfire 22, Meteor F8 and T7 were tooled by MPM.

Captain Canada

I think the SHAR is sword as well ? Seems alot like my t-seaters and that Sword Spit I bought last year.

Think the Shar may well have been MPM.  Never bought it - too modern - and after the reviews probably wouldn't even if I had wanted it.

Only problem with my Xtrakit one is that it has rather a large scratch down the fuselage, plus the super shiny plastic puts me off it. Just a personal thing but I prefer my plastic slightly matt
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
