Army of One

Can't see a thread for this lot here.........just gotta say, got a couple of kits from Thorvic and WOW......couple of little gems.....! I got a BMP2 and a BRDM2.....great little kits with etch and two kits per box.....!!! I have some WW2 Armourfast kits and these S-Model chaps certainly give them a run for their money quality wise. Some extra parts in the boxes ascwell due to different options available. Good value for me. They look like whatbthey are meant to be.....ain't got a clue about accuracy  against plans or anything like that.........

If there is a thread can a mod add mine.....? I did do a basic search first.........

Some impressive early WWII stuff there as well as the Cold War stuff.

I did find a critique of the S-Model BRDM shortly after I bought my first box 1 (I have a box of each variant 2) and the worst fault listed was that the transition from the front (driver's plate) to the sides should be at an angle, as opposed to vertical.
I think the consensus was, barring that fault 3, it's the most accurate BRDM currently available. The turret is certainly better than the Ace(?) version.

1 It may have been one of the links on Henk's site.
2 None of which are to be built OOB: one pair will become BRDM-2NG (lose the belly wheels, plate over the gaps and add side doors), of the other pair, one will receive two Seacat missiles (also sans belly wheels) and one undecided.
3 Oh come on! In a wargames model, a line that's ~1/4 inch long is vertical instead of at 5 degrees or so? I'm sure I can force myself to live with that. At 2 for 12 quid I'd have accepted worse "faults".
What if... I had a brain?

I saw these for sale at a wargames show I went to last year. They are little gems, and nicely detailed.

They have some really nice stuff ! The Sheridans, Jeeps and Mules would make an interesting Vietnam dio.

I love how they call the jeeps 'quick builds' and there's a million wee bits to assemble !

The Russian jeep is a good one too. Jeep-like, but different enough to make you look twice: good for whifs....

I DO like the Russian stuff that they do.

It took me awhile to realize that the Jeep wasn't a Willy's ! So you're spot on, Weaver !

The Jeeps with a trailer or 37mm AT gun are Willys. The GAZ-67 is the Russian one: it has a similar body shape to a US Jeep, but the radiator is a traditional tall "fireplace" shaped one with a cap and it has separate headlamps, rather than the characteristic slotted grill with built-in lamps of the Willy's.

I recently picked up their T-35 and am glad I did.

This is the first T-35 done in plastic in The One True Scale and it's both a beast and a gem.  Plus, you get two per box.  Aside from making this an uber deal it also means you can do one "stock" and the other you can let your imagination run wild.

The quality of the kit's engineering is superb.  The mouldings are nice and crisp and the level of detail is excellent.

Even in just 72nd scale, the T-35 is an absolute beast in size.  The only thing bigger in 1/72 is that Akuyaku 1 Go - "Bad Guy" tank from Tasca.
Wherever you go, there you are!
