Seriously, ah, should I just quit while I'm ahead?

Even my kid just asked, "Why did you do this, Dad?"   :banghead:

Plan was to have a bat-style scalloped bat-tread-guard and batfins on the turret but now
I'm just starting to think it looks dumb.  Everyone else is doing cool stuff and I'm doing a cartoon.

Should I abandon this one?  I might have to send some pics to Alvis for opinion, too.

I don't think it looks dumb. As mentioned before, in the Dark Knight series, the batmobile was not a car at all, but a tank. Hey, if you were going to design a retro tank, you'd need fins, right?

wolfik

heheheh.....coooool!...I feel your idea John....

BlackOps

I for one hope you keep it going. Even if you don't end up where you planned, some the the coolest builds were unexpected detours....just ask Eddie  ;D

Brother Black Ops is right! Forge ahead bravely, Mr Howling Mouse!

I like the fins!

I love it, Raton Rugiente. It just need a T-TAIL

Speaking seriously ... continue with your idea
Will die without understanding this world.

Please carry on Baz!  Another precedent from the Batman series was the latest film, that Batmobile although not tracked, was a military vehicle & beefier looking than most incarnations.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

BlackOps

C'mon Barry, We can't keep the Dark Knight waiting, He's is gonna get tired of peddaling his Schwinn stingray all over town...besides his cape keeps getting stuck in his chain ;D

Ohhh! Very nice!

It's almost as if Cadillac got to do the styling on the Sherman as well as stick them together!

Have you considered having little bat-logos on the track links ala Games Workshop's bane blade tank (which has little imperial eagles on the links)?

John,
Don't worry about it.  Once you paint it black, it will look just fine.  Now are you going to attach a jet exhaust on that or not?

Thanks for your encouragement everyone.  I'll attempt to built a suitable turret this weekend.  Maybe that will spark me on to completing this.

Are you sure it needs a turret? When I look at it, it just seems to cry out for a domed bubble canopy over the turret ring, sort of half-way between what the Lincoln Futura had and that moon tank from Tintin... Just kinda fits the batman retro-futurism look.
