Captain Canada

In line with NATO thinking of the time, Canada replaced it's CH-135 Twin Huey in the ETO with the Puma.

Airfix kit. The only mod was the filters, made from cutting off the engine front and flipping it around and gluing it in place !

Nice
I haven't seen an Airfix? Puma for ages.

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

You have been busy Captain.  You should have an entire 1/144 fleet soon

Could easily see it in Canadian service.

I can't put my finger on it, but to me the Puma has always looked, excuse the technical term: "dorky".  Is it just me?  I don't like the looks of the Super Frelon or the round nose MiLs either, perhaps too much glass up front? The Puma filters don't help the looks either.  But to me the similar sized H-3 and the S-3 look just fine. I recognize taste is highly subjective.

Nice pair, the old Airfix helicopters scrub up okay, rivets suit them, especially the Squeaking!

I know what you mean, I've always thought the earlier Puma's look a bit dumpy and fat.  The more recent Super Puma/Cougar looks better proportioned.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Nice, just as things should have been. But as always, an outgoing government (either party) will make a last minute deal, knowing that they will lose the election and the incoming government will kill it. Gives them an immediate leg-up in the 'We support the military" propaganda.  :banghead:

BODY,BODY....HEAD..!!!!

IF YER HIT, YER DEAD!!!!

Captain Canada

Thanks guys. I thought it would make sense with everybody else using Pumas ( well, the RAF anyway ;-)

As for the looks, totally agree. Just too short and pudgy, but I think it's all in the fwd fuselage. The newer ones look much better, more balanced.

It's kinda like the early Mils and the Sikorsky H-19 (Westland Whirlwind) too - just awkward and ungainly.

Nice one, CC! What's the reason for the red engine/gearbox fairing?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Captain Canada

That was the way the CH-135 was painted, so it's just a copy of that !
