I'm looking for which RAF squadrons were slated/rumoured to receive the TSR.2.   Any ideas?

I suggest going to the Hannants website to check out the Xtradecal TSR.2 'what if' decal sheets for starters.

There was a series of articles in Model Aircraft Monthly a few years ago that corm the basis of/were derived from a (IIRC) a SAM Publicatons book with a title along the lines of 'Lost Tomorrows of a Fallen Eagle'.  A qiick Google or a visit to the SAM Publications website should point you in the right direction.

The Model Alliance decal sheet is probably more what you're looking for, it's based on articles that appeared in model magazines and most of the material ended up in the book KB mentions.  The Xtradecal sheets were based on Jennings musings.

ARC has a review of the Model Alliance sheet, and as a bonus lists all the squadrons with full images of the instruction sheet:

Definites were 30 and 40 Sqns, with 230 or 237 being the OCU.

It seems that most of the official answers have been rightly given, but may I suggest that any Sqn was possible?

For instance, 39 Sqn was slated to get the F-4J(UK) in 1983 and it was only after a short conversation that the order was reversed and 74 Sqn got them.

I assume that ETPS  would have been interested in at least one....

If the dedicated trainer variant had been built, almost certainly.

Very likely they would have got one of the prototypes or the first pre-production aircraft.  XR219 may have ended up at Cosford.  220 may have got there anyway.

had the type made it into service, I would suspect that XR219 would be headed for Hendon after a stint at Farnbrough or Boscombe down or Bedford.
