I think Uslovnogo Protivnika means "simulated enemy". I therefore think that "-UP" would be a good suffix for a Soviet aircraft type modified for the "aggressor" role.

However, I only think this because Google Translate tells me so, and translation programmes are a notorious minefield, so if anyone who actually speaks Russian could verify/correct this, I'd be grateful.

Условного Противника = Uslovnogo Protivnika = Imaginary Enemy (Google) = воображаемый враг (PROMT-Online) = Roobrazhayemyiy Vrag

моделируемый враг = Modyeliruyemyiy Vrag = Simulated Enemy (PROMT-Online & Google)

I've just been rechecking my transliteration, because I felt something was off &;

"Modyeliruyemyiy Vrag" should read "Modyeliruyemjiy Vrag" because the "ы" is a "palatised 'i' sound" (don't ask me what it means, I don't speak Russian).
