lets suppose the RAF converted a few C-47 dakotas for gunship duties for use in various 1960's middle eastern
wars, fighting and conflicts the UK was involved in as a result of USAF experience of their AC-47's in vietnam.

we'll call it the AC-47K to keep things easy.

what would and or could the camo' have been? i am giving it black undersides for a start but wonder if the first
major scheme the RAF's C-130's used say of dark earth and sand upper surfaces would be the best bet? should i
leave off a white cockpit top? i think it would be better to have just two color roundels and small serials as well.

thanks. the above idea is taking shape on my bench at the mo'.

Why not backdate it to the 50's then you could give it black and yellow Suez stripes...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

If you're talking about the 60's the RAF Roundel was the D type red/white/blue, no matter what camouflage
The Aircraft was wearing. The only exception to that 'rule' that I can think of is the Hercules in the
Original Sand/dark earth top sides and Gloss black undersides. The roundels on the top of the wings and the fuselage where full colour red/white/blue, and the underwing roundel was red/blue 'B' type, with I think
Medium sea grey serial numbers as well. (The original colour scheme the Airfix Herk had)
That's what I would suggest for you're AC-47K as well. And possibly the white top, maybe from the cockpit to
The Tailplane but with a high demarcation line. ( just my two penneth worth )

Good idea looking forward to seeing it.

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Do it in the MEAF scheme using the Airdecal decals 60's style rather than the early 70's tweak to the tactical roundels.

You can always do a follow up build using the S&M Andover (due SMW) to do a 70s version in the DSG/DG over Black camo as per the RAF helicopters  ;)

You could also try a SEA scheme for operations in Borneo/Malaysia.

I certainly went for the Dark Earth(H29), Ocean Gray(H106), Dark Green(H163) with some H77 Dark Blue uppersides and Black Green (RLM somethingorother undersides). Keeps the UK flavour but slightly different.
