Hi there all whiffers.

I´m back after a long long time, but i´m here at last  ;D
I have finished university, found a job, moved to another city, lost my notebook with all my passwords and work drafts, found myself a place i call home.

More than a year has passed since my last scale model project.. i was missing it so much, missing the fumes on the colors and glue :D the raving carpet monster, the fitting and sanding and the community... all the stuff well known to a fellow modeller.

So i said, f*ck it, let´s do it again. I went online and bought new kits.

The Kit:

Revell 1/48 - F/A-18 C/D Swiss airforce kit is cheap, nut awfull, mouldings are made by chinese factory with decent occurence of "flesh" and injector marks, lots of cutting, bending, puttying, sanding and reshaping needed. The decals are thin as a hair, so be careful when applying.

Apart from that, the kit is fun and easy to build and looks kinda close to a real thing  ;)

The Build

I went for Swiss Airforce Tigermeet - Panther squadron
weapons are in construction :D

Decals:
Hobby Boss 1/72 Rafale tigermeet
Revell 1/72 ECR Tornado
Revell 1/72 F-16Mlu Tigermeet

Colors
Revell synthetic black matte, earth dust with clear matte overcoat sealing all the decals and markers

As always i´m open to any critique and helpful coments :)

too old for a paper round, too young for me pensions, dammit, back to work then!

Now that really works! I like the idea of using multiple 1:72 kit markings to do one larger model.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Captain Canada

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That sure is a different and good looking hornet!

Paulie

Thank you very much :)

I´ve always wanted to build a 1/48 Hornet and yes, the F-18 are notorious with their grey colors, but there is option to shiny them up with bright color schemes ;)

I´m glad to be back.
