Captain Canada

Hides all the complexity and looks like the one they were already using on the Gamma Goat.

Scooter i did some reading up on that and it turns out its no more difficult than maintaining a bulldozer ,,same deal with the hoses and rams and the Russians designed it so well that all you need to do is undo 18 or 20 bolts and this puppy separates  from the trailer ..its a very cool idea ..part of the reason i went with this one and not the system used on the British Viking ,,this looks cooler too

Thank you Captain  when its finished ,,which its no where near yet i should look even better ,,here's hoping .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

My original idea had a number of rods, then chains, then rods & chains in rather complex linkages inside the armoured tube controlling the steering of the trailers.

Then I though "Hang on, this is the 21st Century, dude!", so I decided that there are collars of electro-mechanical sensors around the ball joints which tell a computer which direction each section is facing & which then instructs electro-hydraulic systems in each of the trailer units when & how far to turn the steering wheels to correctly align the vehicle system.

(& the HMBLT is a system, as much as it's a vehicle)

Now there are just electrical cables running through armoured conduits set around the drive shaft in the armoured tube.

Just loving the work and thought behind this.

The fact that it is fully articulated is even more impressive.

Marvellous !!

Guy mate this will annoy ya a little bit but i figured out the steering system for both your and my machine ...think multi axle self steering trailer ,,the entire steering system is made up of linkages so one arm moves all the wheels at once ,,it does us a lock out solenoid so you can reverse without the steering going where you dont want it too .,,its a pretty simple system so if you could see mine thats what  you would see .

Cheers Buzzbomb mate ...the way i am this had to work ,,as i have said before and i will say again ..i do myself no favors at all .

How about drive by wire?

If it's electro-servo-hydraulic it's already drive by wire.

Yup!

There are also sensors in each unit to tell the computer the pitch & roll angle of each unit, speed, traction, load, etc., too.

Basically the sensors give the driving computer a rather complete picture of the system's situation & condition, & adjusts steering of each section to provide the best & safest follow-through of the "train", with the information being collected, & the instructions being given electronically.

So, drive-by-wire!

I just want to see how the muffler bearings work out.

Never known a muffler to have a bearing but you never know that the future holds hahaha
