While designing some magic items for an RPG campaign, my fiendish associate and I discovered the fiendish dire website, The Seventh Sanctum, which consists of a whole bunch of awesome random generators. Most of which generate fantasy names, magic items, currencies (I got the Imperial Nine Meter Banknote - sounds convenient!), but there is also...
THE WHAT-IF-INATOR! (dramatic chords, lightning flashes, women faint, eye brows are raised, and monocles pop out)
Some of it is a bit wierd, but I did get 'What if Socrates was a pirate,' which I thought was pretty nifty.

Once you are bored with that, go check out:
Pirate ship names, magic items (The Pants of the Happy Feline...), tavern names (The Cheap Alehouse tells it like it is, The Barrel and Barrel shows a distinct lack of imagination...) and all the rest. Hours of foolish entertainment.

(BTW, some of them items created in this session include the Brass Bottle of Bottomless Bees, which spews forth endless bees while held at exactly 90 degrees, The Headband of Cat Hypnotizing, which allows one to hypontise dometic cats and nothing else, and the Accordion of Lust, of which the less said the better...)
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.
