Not sure if anyone has suggested this before, but perhaps not, as this is fairly obscure.

The Curtiss Autoplane is the first attempted at a flying car. This beng 1917, there was a pilot/chauffeur up front, with two passengers, the master of the manor and his lady, perhaps, in the back.

As a whif, it could have possibilities, if only as a starting point of further development of flying flivvers, including trucks and other working vehicles.

And here is a three view if anyone feels ambitious:

Ok, guess that answers the questions I had.

Captain Canada

It's pretty neat, and very advanced for it's time, but it sure looks like a lot of rigging etc. to remove to make it roadable ?

The one in the first pic on the second link, on the other hand....

But I would like to see gliders from WWII done, like trucks and halftracks. Now that would be cool. Maybe toss the wing components into LCMs and take them back during th D-day landings ?
