Found this while looking for something completely different (don't you love it when that happens).
They seemed to have had a Monogram Mafia group build last year and this is on the last page of the thread.

That catchy camo scheme on the jet in the previous post (F-18??---I'm just not good on "modern" blowtorches!) with the black triangles on white was an actual camo scheme tried out on an Allison-engined P-51. I couldn't help myself but want to do one, and long ago (1980's) did a Mustang-esque whif using that camo--LABORIOUSLY cut black triangle decal laid over white paint.

I *KNOW* how hard that is! Nice work, whoever you are!

About the "Navahawk" twin P-40---love the variations on the theme out there in whif-land. My version is down the pipeline a bit in kits to be made, but will have a Native American theme, markings, and camo (no "olive drab" for me!).
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

On the black and white camo on seeing that I'd have ask 'Higher' "Are zebras on the Endangered Species List, over"?
"Just which planet are you from again"?

Luftwaffe Hunter in 1/72nd scale by Pablo Peter. Simple, but nicely done:

dazzle camouflage is astonishing, and it is, actually, *real world*  :banghead:
but still, applying it can make for plenty of beautiful Whif!

I just found another take at it :

I also have a dazzle cammo vehicle on the long agenda: a 1:100 Macross VF-1 Valkyrie in fighter mode, though. I want to experiment with black decal shapes and stripes on a bare, white (or multi-colored - imagine white, light blue and pink?) base. There's the idea though (and a kit in the stash), but tackling that one could take some long time... :(

That Hunter is gorgeous ! I knew I should have grabbed that Revell kit today !
