QuoteYes Tophe it's my Renard. I'm trying to build a collection of late 1930's projects from France, Belgium, Holland,Czech & Poland.

Hmm, going to do any of the up-graded engine variants of the Fokker D-23?  It'd look interesting with two DB601's, wo Merlins, or, even, two Allison V1710's.
I've got one built (Pegasus kit) as an in service Netherlands East Indies AF example and I was toying with the idea of putting a Pegasus on the front end of another, but twin Alisons sounds ok, could use a couple of cheap P40's as donors I suppose ?

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

QuoteFrom Air Enthusiast 02/1974...
I'm thinking the Kestrel and Jumo versions could be used as guides for Merlin and DB601 installations respectively.  It'd make a interesting set of companions for a model of the original Dornier concept for the Do.335 and the competing Messerschmitt proposal.

I have drawn it, haven't you my Forked Ghosts book, dear ? Maybe I will send it for Christmas to you... The Daimler D-23 is illustrated there, and the source was a profile, in Air Enthusiast I think, I may check.
Ah, come to think of it, I do have your Forked Ghosts book, I just don't have any of the updates you've done for it.

Dear Evan, you will receive soon a free copy of the third and new (and very last ever) volume, before the end of November for sure. With more than 200 new drawings, including the Focke-Wulf/Mayerle Fw 119, do you remember? It is all written in English, only. The title is 'The end of Forked Ghosts' and 65 copies will be printed, for my friends. On my sending list are yourself, Aircavpinkteam, Martin H, Captain Canada, The wooksta, Nev, John Howling Mouse, Supertom, Glenn, Ollie, D-ONUT, TSR-Joe, Libelula, TSR-Joe, JCC, Alvis3.1, Sisko, Linzifox. On my list also, as contributors to thank, but I have no name nor address: JoeP, Jschmus, Swamphen, Joesus, Jeffryfontaine, Daryl Johnson, Allan (they may contact me by mail, they would receive a free copy)... This is not a published book, and there is no sell value for it. And if the receivers want to thank me, they can buy one of my previous book, simply someday, or drink a beer with cheers to the twin-boomers of the World... I am so happy that you have my "Forked Ghosts" book, Evan, I feel honoured. If you need any translation of some paragraph, just ask me. Thanks.

Great information this morning from my dear friend Justo Miranda ( http://www.luft46.com/rd/rdreams.html ) :
The Renard R.42 kit at 1/72 scale is now available from HR Model
(the R.42 is the true twin-fuselage Renard project, double R.40, page 35 in my Forked Ghosts book, published version)

By the way, any chance of getting copies of your first two supplements?  I'd like the complete package if I can get it.

Thanks,
Evan

Well received, dear Jschmus, but - a stupid question, excuse me...: Does NC means North Carolina, and most of all: USA? Maybe this is obvious for you, but not from another continent... :) If I tell you I live in AeB, this is very clear for me, but your post team cannot understand, if you send me a parcel with this only destination...

I just checked his profile, the "NC' is definitely North Carolina here in the USA.   His home town is well known for one of the more famous NASCAR tracks.  I trust it was obvious that my home town is here in Texas in the USA.  B)

- From the USA: I think you may ask Icarus Books ( icarus@icarusbooks.com )for the price with low shipment of "Supplement No.1 to 'Forked Ghosts'" and I think they will join a free copy of my little old "Catamarans in the Sky" if you order, I have given them several. And know that the Supplement No.1 includes a full English translation.
- "Supplement No.2" has changed name into "The end of Forked Ghosts", this is the one you and the other friends will receive from me, free, in a very few weeks. In English all.
- From outside USA, all is explained on my homepage: people have just to click on 'Order form' in the first lines list, then follow what is written.
- Anyway, I have to update/improve my home-page next week-end, adding the very last Me 709 & Me 909 thumbnails, and the decision to print copies for my friends only, with the printable file available (for all the ones sending an empty CD or Jaz or Zip) - but I may have to check with someone in UK or USA for printing with format Letter and not A4...

Thanks again, dear Evan. Once more, you are my favourite engineer in the World... :)

Hey, I am not a salesman, I am just one of you, and this is a Renard topic, with Dutch D-23 projects also. So, talking of Forked Ghosts, here are the included Renard R-42 and D-23 Daimler...:

Thank you very much for that info.  If I sent a blank CD, would it be possible to get electronic copies of the original book and all the supplements?  I'd love to get electronic files of all those illustrations.

Thanks,
Evan

Uh, I will check, and we may try it away from here, dicussing problems by personal e-mails. I have lost the 1st book files, I fear (the coloured ones with background, I have just the building temporary files anymore), as I spent 2 years in hospital 1998-2000 and all was moved and much jettisoned. But I will see for Supplement No.1, I guess it is very possible... Well, no, somehow: if there are just thumbnails on my Home page, it is because my publisher required me not to give more for free, preventing his book-sells. And just "the end of" book is completely out of publication, I cannot give exactly what he tries to sell (without author rights, our contract is just mutual help). Let me think it over, it is a very interesting question. And we may talk about it personnaly. I may do something secretly to 1 special friend, like the engineer I would have liked to be... before my heart and life was broken (1979), before living again (2001)...
