Excellent whiffery!! Love the bulk of the engines with that slim fuselage!

Oh what a fantastic build!!! It looks so damm right and uses the Whirlwind in what I thought should have been it's main role!

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

A Merlin Whirlwind has been on my "to-do" list for ages. Like yours, I'd be using Mosquito engines but with 4 bladed props. As for the rest of the Mosquito? Well, I have the Flightpath Merlin 85 engine set............................................!!!

One concern I had about the Whirlybird was that the aircrafts smaller u/c might look a bit odd under those big nacelles. I had considered using the Mosquito u/c originally but, your model demonstrates my concern was unfounded. Very neat piece of work

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Cool!  Mostly engine - looks like a 1940's Star Wars pod racer!!

Yup, second that. as mentioned before, making a racer from it was a thought I had, too! I also considered adding a plug in the rear fuselage, because the Mossie engine pods are consinderably longer than the original ones, but in the end I just added the fin fillet - I guess with a plug I would have had to add some wing span, too. The way the Mk. II ended up yields a beefy look. A bit nose-heavy, yes, but not unrealistic.

Thanks a lot - glad you like it! :)
