the New Flanders Air Force aquired a single secondhand Airbus A319 in august 2014.
it has underwent overhaul and upgrade at the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France. modifications include the instalation of new SATNAV equimpent, conversion is Quick-Change capability, removal of the luggage compartment to accomodate extra fuel (as in the A319-CJ)
the aircraft will enter service in Januari 2015 and will primarily be used as a goverment transport.
its secondary role will be that of a passenger/troopship aircraft (124 passengers) and Medevac aircraft.
in the latter, the aircraft can carry 20 patients on stretchers and has a Surgical room on board.

Interesting model and colours. Why is this the New Flanders Air Force? Was there a Flanders Air Force before?
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

New Flanders is my What If nation  ;D (the "New" is as not to make confusion with the Dutch Speaking Part of Belgium (Flanders))

just like how New Zealand is with the Dutch province of Zeeland.

Captain Canada

I think he meant Ned Flander's Air Force.

Looks great in that scheme Nils. I really like the colour combo and the fin markings are excellent. I really need to try making my own decals. Would sure make my modelling life easier !

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Long Live the Commonwealth !!!

Very clever use of an English title on the starboard side and a Flemish one on the port side.

That's presumably so New Flanders' NATO partners aircrews don't run into trouble working out who's aircraft it is.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit
