So put on your Gulf War I hats gents.

The two theatre painted RAF Tristars, Pinky and Perky, had lo-vis roundels and fin flashes on fuselage and tail respectively. Seems the standard grey/white scheme blue cheatline was also present.

My question is did they have roundels on the top/bottom of the wings?  I've seen models/diecast, and artwork showing them but most inflight pics are off angle or dark.

What I'm planning on doing doesn't really matter, but I was just seeing what other info is out there.

Cheers y'all.

I'd say yes, but only on top.

After a lengthy search I found this pic, and you can JUST see the roundels on top of the wing. As far as I can see there weren't any on the undersides.

I shrunk the pic so I could get it in the page but the original is 2.5 times as large and the roundels are quite clear on that.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Looks like the same size as the upper surface and where I've seen other roundel variations they've all matched.

Great pics of them boys....thanks ! Love the ramp shot. Haven't seen many pics from that era, and they look lovely in their hasty paint jobs...war weary and love the n/m engines.
