got a few 1/48 scale bits from over the years all in the parts bins, so put them all together and lets see what comes up.
this aircraft is unsuccessful replacement for the westland whirlwind as development took until 1948 to get a flying prototype and it was obsolescent before it took to the air.
I went for  gloster as the fuselage is a gloster meteor f1, the wingsfrom a beaufighter but i can't find the torpedo that i think came with the kit at sometime, as for the engine the original kit parts are gone but i do have some 1/48 scale engines from a b-17 so on the go the cowlings are from the beaufighter as are the props as i haven't found counter rotating props the are large enough, to look right

started to cut plastic , then found camera need new battery pack so sent for a new one  but until the no photos,
the wing from the beaufighter is almost the same size at the wing root , just a tad thicker in cord so its quite a good fit and wont take a lot of plasticcard to make it fit, decided to keep the tail the  one of of the box as not a lot difference in size between the two, remember it a prototype so the later problems with the tail being to small when it single engine flight have not been found yet, don't know why i but the engines in as the cowling cover the almost 100%  when i put on the spinners covers could have got away with just a plastic tube to make the props the right distance away from the cowlings!!
going with a tail drager landing gear as i can't get the look right for me with a tricycle set up

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Oh how cool Lenny ! Lots of bits and bobs stuck together to become a unique aeroplane. I really like the look. Modern, yet very period....sleek, yet bulky ? !
