Most of my target shooting was on paper targets at 25 yards, both indoor and outdoors, but I did use both weapons at 200 yards at Bisley a few times. The round was flying so slowly by the time it got there I almost had enough time to swap to the spotting scope and watch it hit! 22LR at that range needed a massive amount of elevation too, I found it most uncomfortable.

So, indirect fire using .22LR artillery?

Hehe. I didn't have a dial sight on the rifle, just the Parker-Hale peep sights, so it may have been a bit difficult. It certainly seemed odd looking down the row of shooters and seeing everyone's barrels pointing waaaay up there.

Later on, firing on the same ranges, I used the Winchester Model 70 firing the .220 Swift round that I mentioned earlier in the thread, and that seemed to ignore both the range and the crosswind! My shoulder still hasn't recovered though.

I've practiced shooting rifles at all sorts of stuff ranging from

Stationary

• Paper sights
  
• Old cups
  
• Pieces of wood and metal
  

Moving

• A piece of paper attached to a RC car
  
• A small flag towed by an RC plane (that was pretty hard to do)

Is it possible to create a shutter suitable for the pressures for gun-use that can open and close in 0.001 to 0.0005 sec?
