I was looking for something else and saw this picture ...

And thought - What if the two aircraft were actually one and how it would fit nicely into the air force of Morvalonga as a COIN attack aircraft.  Now I'm trying to hunt down a pair of Cessna O-2s.

Great pic ! I haven't seen that kit around in awhile tho...

I bet Tophe was involved with that somewhere.........  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Two fuselages, three tail booms and four engines! Why not!

The Airfix O-2 is on my want list as one of the kits to re-experience that I remember glue bombing as a kid.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

That's got Alvis written all over it !

There's also an ARII kit of the Cessna, but it has a fixed landing gear (like the civil Siamese twin).

I stumbled across this civil one last year and have wanted to do my own variation's ever since. If you find the kits go for it.

Nice one!  I'll keep looking for the kits for a military version.

Tophe

Wonderful picture, thanks!
Will you build it like that, with 4 booms, or with 3 booms (one in common), like Kit_PR19's (and USAF's) Tri-Stang had 3-fuselages? ;) ;D
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Not sure yet.  Looks like I have plenty of tie as the only ones I can find are on ebay at around £20 each.  Way beyond what I want to spend.

For a military version I'll need to decide on its role first.  The options I'm thinking of:

1.  Command and control - some weapons
2.  Gunship - underwing weaponry and one fuselage with side firing heavy guns
3.  Special Forces Support - Fitted out to carry SF paras and have a substantial close support weaponry in pods
4.  COIN - Rockets and guns galore!
5.  Medevac - one fuselage kitted out as an ambulance the other for sitting wounded
6.  Logistic - cargo/para fuselages
Maybe others as I save up!

Found a listing in Ebay for 1/48 Heller O2 kits, $16.51 each, with $18.74 for shipping.
