Fairly typical contemporary short-run, e.g. better than they used to be, but still not major manufacturer quality. Building it gear up, so typically crap fit on gear doors.  :banghead:

to be honest ive seen fits that "good" on some of the mainstream injection stuff ive done recently,  it seems that gear down is the way most company's want the kits built..  ( probably why they also don't put pilots in the boxes either)

take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

Interesting build Jon, I don't think I've seen a built example ?

As for the gear doors, that's something nice about the new tool Airfix stuff. they give you two sets of doors - open and closed so you don't even have to cut them

RS have improved by leaps and bounds over the last few years. Some of the new stuff is excellent. They were always reasonable resin producers and have now replaced most of those tools with IP. they also of course produce What If boxing's of their kits

They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

And you made me remember of the twin-boom version XP-79T, thanks!:
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Lovely shape to that one ! A little paint and weathering and decals and you won't even notice the fit

It was a really interesting design and plane, perfect base for some amazing Whiffs!

I'm dying to see what you will do with it!

Tempted to revisit my Manta NF.2 idea (http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,21076.msg299161.html#msg299161) to create a more Meteory/Derwenty vibe.  I've a Meteor NF second-hand part build in the stash that could be the basis of such a bash.  Unlike the Manta I'd be tempted to give it a dH.108-style fin.
