brass cannon barrel painting question

hi so i have this project on  bench right now that i chose a brass cannon gun barrel's so im looking for a way to make them gunmetal gray :banghead: is there any way you boys can suggest ? thanks in advance

Well i'd use the gunmetal grey acrylic paint I have.  But i'd spray a light coat of etching primer first.

Yup prime and then use one of the many gunmetal paints out there.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

A light sanding (#1000 sandpaper) will give a better surface for painting on, but with an etch primer that's probably not necessary.
