I won't post a lot of pictures as I know some of you are frequent visitors to Cosford

but....

Everytime I go, I fall 'in love' with this 'old girl' again ;D

and for those of you who want to know how old VC-10s are getting along

and this shot isn't much, but I get the feeling it should be on the wall of a themed diner somewhere

Oh to be whiffing again :-(

Steel Penguin

please put up as many as you wish,  you may get a shot I haven't seen
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

Where have they parked 'Bob' and is all of it there yet?

'Bob' is parked in a fenced off area next to the building (hanger?) to the right of the Hercules as you look at it from the main car-park

Here's another picture taken through the fence for people who like 'bits' of planes

As for pictures around the site ....this has moved from inside I think ?

The Nimrod is with the Neptune and the Dominie

I'm sure this was down at Hendon ?

A personal favourite  ;D

Excuse the join in the photo, couldn't manage it all in one shot  It's a shame there isn't a way of putting a viewing/photography gallery up in this hanger

Another personal favourite  ;D

Just hanging around ....

Must make my model of this very soon! (join the queue / list!)

And another favourite to end on  ;D

Oh to be whiffing again :-(

Super stuff there.

And I think you're right about the Bristol M1, I can't remember seeing it at Cosford before. What pugnacious looking thing it is!

I've never seen any of that stuff before ! Of course I'm familiar with the name, but....lovely museum. Another place on my 'must see' list. Love the way the Hunter is mounted, and great to see the heavies there, especially the Britannia.

Thanks for sharing.....and please keep sharing !

PS-is there a kit of the Sea Baliol ?

Love the way the Hunter is mounted,

There's a even better one just caught behind it.  It's my favourite museum mounting of an aircraft, a Lightning standing on it's tail.  It makes it hard to photograph and even harder to view, but...

Here's a pic from teh web:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

AFAIK there's almost no visual difference between the Sea Balliol and the land version apart from the hook. But Special Hobby do both versions :-

Cosford does have another Hunter....not in quite such an excellent state of preservation ... it's actual gate guard

info on the above from the excellent Thunder & Lightnings site

And another roof hanger.....

More info and another picture of the above

http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/javelin/survivor.php?id=688

and the Lightning Mossie mentioned (my picture wasn't that good  :-\ )

Hobbes

Looks like they've shuffled some of the exhibits in the test aircraft hangar?

Captain Canada

I didn't even notice the Lightning in the original pic ! Wow ! And that's a natural pose for an aeroplane as powerful as that one.

The Javelin display is nice as well. An aero with a shape like that is a natural up in the 'air' like that.

Thanks !

There are a number of Hunters flying in Canada, all ex-Swiss IIRC

It's always given me the impression of a snappy Bull Terrier biting at your heels. Must build my kit of it one day
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
