im now nearing the end of this build, last night i started on decals.
if all goes well, it should be done very soon  

im not gonna post any pics of it yet, your gonna have to wait until its completly finished  


EDIT:

had a bit of a setback just now, as i was applying the final decals, one of the parts for the serials (from an airfix Hurricane) broke off 
i had no idea the airfix decals were this fragile.
i managed to pick out a replacement serial letter from the spares box.

she's now finished, pics to follow when the varnish is dry

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I, Aeronautique Militaire Belge,
2 escadrille, Schaffen-Diest, May 1940

in 1936, Belgium started looking for modern aircraft to replace the elderly 1920/30's biplanes that were hopelessly out of date.
in 1938 it placed an order for 20 spitfire Mk.I's and requested a licence to build a further 60. these first 20 aircraft, straight from RAF stocks, were serialed K-1 to K-20. unfortunatly, the licence built aircraft never reached the frontline units as the factories of Fairey Gosselies were bombed by the Luftwaffen in may 1940, destroying the first 6 licence built aircraft (K-21 to K-26).
after Belgium fell, the remaining Spitfires fled to England, where they helped bolster the RAF fleet.

Sweet!  Not too exotic, but the Belgian markings look natural on the early Spitfire.

Cool.  Roundels look great on the green and brown and the silver underbelly is very good.
