They're really weird...two types. I wake up in the dark and see incredible geometric patterns in greens and blues all over the ceiling and walls. There was a very good book written about these called "The Mind In The Cave", which helped me understand.  The others are more frightening, like in a garden at night when a deep patch of darkness detaches itself, forms into something nasty and advances. Gives me the willies. All products of an overactive imagination apparently. They'd gone away for awhile but then came back recently with a vengeance...again, apparently the over-riding pain of sciatica was dominating but now that's gone my subconscious has returned to 'business as usual'.

Been thinking about maybe the RAF flying JU88s, with a dorsal turret.

So you are waking up and hallucinating?  They are not dreams?
Weird.

I've been thinking about a Petylakov Pe-2 with a Lancaster dorsal turret as a cross channel raider to hit Luftwaffe airfields.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Wasn't there a lend/lease route through Turkey or Iran into Russia?

Through Iran or Persia as it was then but not until 42
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Or a Sukhoi Su-2 with a Hercules and a B-P turret.

with a uniform to wear,
a fast aeroplane to fly,
and something to shoot at?"

......and now there's a very nice 1/48 SU-2 kit on the market maybe an alternative to the Defiant. Dr Seuss anyone, "Oh the things that you will do"  ;D

I've finally made up my mind as I'm only going to do one aircraft for this build, a Mig-3 with minor mods. I'll post a piccie or two as the build progresses.

KiwiZac

I was thinking the MiG - especially if, as alluded to in your drug-addled initial post, it's Douglas Bader's machine.

. Trying to catch those pesky recon planes.

Cracked the cork and made a start:

Breaking free of L-Space there will be little in the way of modification, just a deletion of the cowling guns and two Shvak cannon in the wings. If the I-16 could take 'em.... ;D

Captain Canada

Big kit ! Going to be interesting how you go about it.
