Chevrolet Citation Cannonball Runner

I built this for the 2015 Scale Cannonball Run.  This years theme was sleepers.  It has some hub caps to disguise the wheels but I prefer the look without them.




It's a 1/25 AMT Chevrolet Citation Turbo body mounted on an AMT Plymouth Prowler chassis.  The body had to be lengthened by 5mm in order to match wheelbases.  I stretched it in front of the doors when I cut the nose off.  I also removed the bonnet bulge and rear spoiler while I was at it.
I swapped the stock Plymouth V6 for a 440ci Dodge Magnum V8 with dual quads on a cross ram manifold and scratchbuilt the interior.  Seats are from a Revell '41 Willys Street Rod and wheels are from my big box labelled "Special Wheels".  IIRC they are an aftermarket Aoshima set.
Paint is car paint hit with a white filter on the top followed by spraying the sides with gloss clear and immediately hitting the top with satin clear.  This was an attempt to make it look like the sun had oxidised the paint.

Sweet job on that , love the Krispy Kreme donut box in the back lol , the [aint work is top notch , something I haven't tried yet is car models , for some reason I think these are the most difficult models to attempt , I badly want to build some of those resin Mad Max cars ( maybe next year )

Ummmm Austanker, the doughnut box is actually on the passenger seat.  It just looks like the back because the engine is set back so far.
For me the hardest thing when building cars is smooth shiny paint.

I wouldn't fret about the rims.  They could, logically, have come off a junked 7th Gen Impala SS (the one built on the Caprice Classic platform)-

Nice work ! The paint really came out well. I like the rear 3/4 view....almost looks like an early 80s Mustang/ Capri !
