I originally came up with this senario in August 2011, but never actually started the build [unless opening the box counts as starting ], but this GB gives me the starting point:

DDR Dornier 335 – Back story -April 1947
Early on the morning of 12th April 1947 Swedish Coastal  Radar picked up an unidentified aircraft flying at high altitude on heading which would take it over the Swedish mainland. Attempts to contact the aircraft were unsuccessful, so a decision was made to scramble a pair of J28 [Vampire] fighters to intercept the intruder from the F13 Airwing at Norrköping-Bråvalla.
The intruder continued to approach the Swedish coast at a height of 35000 feet, close to the service ceiling of the J28's, but the pair were able to intercept the aircraft shortly after the aircraft crossed the coast. The pilots were able to identify it as a late model Dornier 335 with long wings, but the insignia on the aircraft were unknown.
Attempts to communicate with the aircraft were again unsuccessful, but, having been intercepted, the aircraft turned away on an easterly heading out over the Baltic, escorted by the pair of J28's.

That's got my attention............  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That sounds interesting. Maybe a modernized version with turborproos, too?

With twin turboprops and the right shape blades it could be a competitor for the Thunderscreech's noise records...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Geoff

Mixed power version with a jet rear engine.
