Started to apply decals today!  

Ended up using non standard Star and Bars for the build as the ones I was intending to use looked a little bit yellow rather than being a nice crisp white

You could always try the following. Put the yellowed decals into a clear ziplock bag, and then place said bag by a window (I normaly tape the bag directly to the window with tamiya masking tape), with the decals facing out. Leave for a few days or so and let mother nature bleach them white again. Ive used that meathod a few times and it has had a 75-80% success rate so far for me. It even bleached out a set of decals that had been yellowed for at least 15 years or so.

Thanks but it's a bit late for that. Those decals are on and snuggled down over the detail and even have a coat of varnish over them as well.

Thought you were going to say its a bit late as would need to await the Spring Equinox to get the sun high enough and strong enough to bleach decals

I'm not quite that far north but there are days when I wonder especially when its a rather dreach day and I need the lights on in the kitchen just to make a mug of tea.

Tape the whole model to the window.............

Don't laugh, I did this with one of my airliners that was going steadily custardwards once and it WORKED!

It's good decals that are on the model now Kit which were intended for an F-8 rather than an F-4. I was going to use the star and bar's from a Hasegawa box for an F-4 B/N but because of the slight colouration difference I went with the F-8 decals. They don't look too bad.

By far the best solution I'm sure Alastair.
