Quite how an old-tool Magister ends up Series 3

Airfix Magister ? What am I missing ?

Calm down Chris, it's a JET!  ;D

You know, one of those up-to-date aircraft that fly at an acceptable speed.....  ;)

.... and that don't have propellers.  ;D

You could argue and latter this afternoon I might  that the turbine blades and all the other whirly things inside a turbojet are propellers of one form or another

Yes, but it's so much tidier and more efficient to keep them on the inside.... ;)

Please don't encourage him, he'll go and buy one, fit it with taller tailwheel landing gear and THEN put a prop on the front!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Nah I'd leave the nose wheel, but lengthen it and have it as a French Thunderscreech type thing  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

(That's quite enough levels of quote thank you...)

You'd need to deepen it as well to make room for the prop shaft: the crew are practically sitting on the inside of the lower fuselage as it is. You don't need a ladder to board a Magister, you just step over the side.

Now a pusher prop would work nicely, since there's not a lot in the rear fuselage and a ventral fin to protect the prop from tail strikes would look good with the V-tail. You could stretch the undercarriage as far outboard as you like since the wing has a glider-style section with a high t/c ratio so there's plenty of depth to accomodate it, but that wouldn't leave much room for stores. Trainer for Lear-Fan pilots?  ;D
