I know I'm supposed to building a Tomcat for the Cold War group build but;
Do you know how many pieces a Hasagawa Tomcat has? 176  :o ......
I put the lid back on the box :rolleyes:
Then I had an inspiration or maybe it was an urge to do something simple, :cheers:
And different, so from an idea by our Tophe I've started with this;

And the inspiration?
Was this:

Of course it won't be an exact copy, I find they kind of grow and take on a way of there own,
So I know it won't have the jet at the back, but will have the twin fins, and a turbo-prop up front
As against the Merlin....
So far I've done this:

Merlin removed, shims added to fair in new turbo-prop engine, fin removed and tail planes added
Of greater span ready for twin fins later.

New engine glued in place awaiting final sanding to shape. (When the glue has set)
Possible users? DomRep? Or what I'm leaning more towards at the moment the Swiss:
In use as a Target Tug. Probably because it reminds me of the F+W C-3605

Regards
Keith
The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Looking good already ! Love those Mustang kits.

Yes, a C-3605, only really, really good-looking! This is a great start, I'm excited for this.

Tophe - I'm sorry I hadn't seen your drawing, the twin-fin design is beautiful!

Where is the new engine (turboprop) coming from? Which kit? or scratchbuilt?

Update ;D (possibly the last for a couple of weeks, I have to work :-\)
Anyway:

Bits used so far; Tailplanes and engine are from the Airfix Tucano, while the fins are the original
Mustang Tailplanes trimmed to suit. Possible tip tank fit, is from the Revell/MPM Meteor F.4, and no it won't
Remain an asymmetric fit, :rolleyes: if I add them there will be one on each wing. ;D

The F-4 in the background looks interesting. Is there a story on that?
