Here my (last?) Me 262 projekt; the Me 262 W (Wasser-Jabo).

I hope ends well.

Alright !

Some interesting lines here

Is that float from a Kingfisher?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The float does look familiar.

This'll be good.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Maybe twin tails for the engines' efflux on the back? Interesting concept!

BTW: what Me 262 kit is this? Hobby Boss, I assume?

Thanks. Yes, the float come from the kit of the floatplane Curtiss SC 1 Seahawk.

Yes; the Me 262 is a Hobby Boss kit. I chose it to better for to fit the float under the fuselage. Exactly, i´ll put the engines behind the cabin for the flow, and the tail will be "T tail", to protect the horizontal stabilizers.

it should be beautiful with a central float!

Hi Fran

As it turns out, I am building one of those in 48 scale. I have gone for the T-tail.  I used floats where the engines were, thinking the Atlantic could be a challenge to land out.  I recognise the increased drag of the floats but if you put a wing into the middle of the Atlantic (during a submarine refuelling), it would be curtains. I also used the small bomb carrying thingies to create a spacer between the aft fuselage and the nacelles.  Given the location of the engine intake, I am putting in an ejection seat. Regrettably I am a very slow builder and this project is about 3 years old already.

There is an IPMS article on the "wasser jaeger" which was my inspiration - in 72 scale. The article is quite old.

But this is a fun project - good luck with it.

Cheers

Hi dumaniac, thanks; you´ve given me some ideas.

Do they belong these pics to wasser jäger article you say?.

And this?

dumaniac

Yes Fran - those first two images are from the article.  In this version, the wing floats are small and I thought too small for anything but a smooth sea.  I am going for a T-tail while this one used the conventional arrangement.

But - like any ideas - these pics provide food for thought, what-if thought.

Good luck

Bernie

Incredible (I mean: "very nice"!) addition to the Me-262 family! ;D
