Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I've never really understood these magazine subscription model kits, provided you actually have some income and are not buying it from your weekly allowance. Could someone explain it to me? Maybe, just maybe, if it's an exclusive kit not available elsewhere...

Of course, a subscription and some sort of guarantee (as if) of the eventual completion of the full kit is somewhat plausible, but the idea of buying these as individual issues from the newsstand (as these kind of kits are sold in some places) boggles the mind. What if the amount of single-issue customers in a given region drops below the required quota? Congratulations, you now have a half-assembled model kit... Or even better, what customer would jump into the build halfway?

I did my research on this kit and from reports there is nothing like it on the market , it is very detailed and comes with lighting etc its a 1:1 replica of the movie prop and is rather massive , its has sold well overseas in the UK and USA
I missed out on getting one of the old MPC kits in the 70's and wanted one ever since so I pounced on this after waiting for it to hit Australia sure it will cost a lot after 100 issues but I will have a bloody good model and it will be rather rare to collectors in years to come 20 bucks a week , I find that metal detecting at the beach  ;D
I am not new to partwork collections having collected the Combat Tanks series for 2 years and you subscribe direct to the distributor so you will never be cut off halfway through a collection , you can also subscribe at anytime in the series or pull out if you have had enough
There are also people making super detail add ons for the kit and many forums have group builds and blogs of construction going with tips etc so I won't be in the dark
I plan on embedding this thing into a round glass coffee table when finished as it wont fit anywhere else in my house lol

I believe Tested.com subscribed to the Millenium Falcon in the US and are building it, but after the first couple of videos it went onto their premium subscribers-only basis so I don't know if they carried on with it.

While it's true that subscribing to the magazine direct from the publisher protects you from missing an issue at the news stand, it doesn't protect you from the publisher going bust, cancelling ther series, screwing up or indulging in shady practices.

A few years back, I subscribed to World Aircraft Information Files, a part-work aircraft encyclopedia. It turned out that each article in the encyclopedia was split up between many magazine issues, so you couldn't just stop without having incomplete entries all through the collection. For instance, the F-14 article (one of the longest at 30-odd pages) had one page in the first issue, but they were still issuing pages for it right at the end of the run, several years later.

While it did build up into a useful reference, there were issues that went missing or got duplicated leading to just about everyone being short of half-a-dozen. After the series was over, the publisher then miraculously 'found' a batch of these and offered them to subscribers for a limited time at a 'very reasonable' price (i.e. you only paid twice for them), but c'mon, you didn't want your collection to be incomplete now you'd invested all that time and money in it, did you?

Deagostini have been in the partworks business for years , sure they muck it up every now and again , I remember the great Jagdpanther faulty road wheels incident but that was resolved and correct models were sent out to those who wanted them or even noticed the fault , the current MF series is over halfway through overseas so there is very little chance of it being canned , also the Australian distributor Bisset Magazines has excellent customer service so I'm not worried in the least

One of blokes in the Model Car Club I belong to subscribed and built the 007 Aston Martin.
It's a beautiful big model (1/6 at a guess) with heaps of working features but it should be as it cost him AU$1760 in total.

With longer wings?

I'd like to see it in this Croatian scheme.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
