Judging models with multiple builders?

In about a month and a half, I'll be taking my hospital ship model to two contests. One thing I'm curious about is how judges view models that are built by more than one person? While 99% of the model is built by myself, I had to give the aircraft to another modeling friend to detail as my eyesight wasn't good enough.
Post # 218 here:

While I asked for his help with painting the windows, I never asked or expected him to do the shading and paneling. That came as a surprise.  :o  So how should I communicate on the entry form, to the judges, or elsewhere, that I had a friend work on the aircraft for me? Do judges frown on model projects that are built by more than one person? I'm not sure how to handle this situation, but I also want to give credit where credit is due to my friend.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Ask the judging coordinators for the shows.

At the 2016 IPMS-Seattle show we had a category 804: Group Builds, which was for models
with multiple builders (personally, I think it was poorly named as evidently whoever made
the choice of designation was unfamiliar with the typical meaning of the term on modelling
forums.  :banghead: )

Surely it's the model that's being judged.  In which case does it matter if it's built by one person or a team?

I agree with Zenrat but would add that any details given on a card or whatever should state the fact that 2 or more builders were involved. In your case simply say the aircraft were modelled by .......
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Welp, IPMS-USA rules state flatly that a model shall be the work of a single person, with the exception
of a Club/Group build.

Anyhow, no, it is never the model being judged, it is how it has been constructed and finished by the builder, because models don't build themselves.

I've no problem with that, especially if it's clearly stated in the rules.

I think this may be one of those things where attitudes are different on opposing sides of the Atlantic ? My understanding is that in the U.S. at least the competition part of a model show takes precedence whereas in the U.K. it's the club display side of things. From the few European shows I've seen they tend to align more with the U.K. model ?

There's no right or wrong as long as the rules are clear as I said.

...Anyhow, no, it is never the model being judged...

Not at a judged show no.  But at a peer voted show who knows.  I certainly pick the model I wish i'd built.  A decision based on my own personal values which don't include quality.
