I thought there was a past topic on this, but I can't seem to find it. Anyway.........I just bought and recieved some LARC-V amphibious lighter vehicles from Shapeways. They were printed in white strong & flexible type material.
I've heard from time to time that cleaning of Shapeways 3D parts prior to priming and painting can be quite problematic. Does anybody have any suggestions and advice for what the best way to clean the parts would be and/or the best cleaning agents to use?
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Yeah, I've gotten a lot of their stuff in various formats, and the winner so far is simple dish soap and a toothbrush. I clean it like I would resin, which means I'll let it soak for a little while in soapy water, and then use a toothbrush with some extra soap on it to make sure I get the mold release off the bits.

I prefer, and have gotten the best results, from Dawn. I figure if it's good enough to get crude off of wildlife, it's good enough for this.  ;)

White Strong & Flexible is easy: just a quick wash in water with dishwashing detergent to be on the safe side. Materials like FUD are more finicky, I gathered some information in the instructions for my Shapeways parts:
