The CAA's current ultra stringent rules maybe?  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Nothing to do with the CAA. Since when did they had any say over museums?

the end of the Hendon model show was due to new management upping the venue hire costs. Plus insisting on more enhanced public liabilty insurance cover. Strange realy, as its the same management team for Cosford.

Could be the same reasons for Yeovilton.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

One reason Ive seen quoted on forums is that the model shows attracted too many visitors , which impacted on enjoyment of the museum for non model show visitors. Never seen a museum complain about too many visitors before.

FAA Museum Yeovilton is pay on entry as opposed to the free RAF Museum (with paid parking !), so if you at t visit the museum and cant see the actual exhibits for crowds of modellers and tables in the way you can get a bit miffed especially if doing a special trip to the place. Sad but understandable the crowd size is also an issue as parking is limited and they can't park on the road as its an operational air base so the overflow is off behind the reserve collection hall I think, It would only take a few letters of complaint about making the trip to the museum, being forced to park off the site walk half a mile in Feb or Oct, pay to get in and find the exhibits overcrowded.
