Definitely CMK.  I have one somewhere in the loft at me Mam's.  I think...

Thank you for the help, W!

I'd say you two have this pegged down. It's great being able to find answers to these questions. I love how helpful everyone here is.   <_<

How did the kit come? I'm assuming the lack of instructions and/or transfers is just luck of the draw in my case, but that they DO exist, it just so happens mine are missing?  If you get a chance, dig that bad boy out and let me know what you think of the canopies and if there are any type of instructions I should be aware of to make this work.

I'd love to build this. I'm thinking RAF livery or something.

Apologies all round, although I have bad memories of plugging away at Pegasus' XF5U many ice ages back. It was Meikraft I was thinking of, specifically their Grumman FF-1 kit. Very primitive.

The Wooksta!

Early CMK kits always came bagged, occasionally with instructions but as they were intended for serious modellers they rarely included them.

Given that the kits is based on the Heller Me 163, I doubt you'd have any issues building it.

Yeah, as The Wooksta says, my XP-67 came in something that looked like a heat sealed sandwich bag, and not a HINT of any instructions.

But as it's all moulded in one piece there's not that much to assemble, apart from making my own props and landing gear, neither of which were included.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yup some of those early CMK kits were very quick to build  ;D Sometimes wish they go down the single large casting route nowadays occasionally.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

TheChronicOne

This thing was most definitely molded in one piece.   ;D

I think it's safe to say now that what I have is all that there is. I wanted to know where it came from out of sheer curiosity, but I was certainly hoping for some illumination as to those canopies. Ah well...   I might just fill the whole area in and turn it into a drone... put a big anetna on it, call it the Me 262w or something, and have it be the first known RF drone  (attack)aircraft.

Speaking of, what was the first??  I know they were doing it to B-17s shortly after the war but what was the very first?

They did it with B-17s during WWI too, or tried to, check this Wiki entry.

JFK's brother Joseph Kennedy was killed on August 12 1944 whilst flying a B24 Liberator not a B17, The Liberator had been modified as a flying bomb drone and exploded prematurely, killing both Kennedy and his co-pilot Lieutenant Wilford john Willy. The Drones were know as BQ-8's and the program was operation Aphrodite.

Fascinating!  Bailed out of the cockpit, though?  Why not bail out of the side or something?!
