Anyway my Xmas pressies included French Secret Projects Vol 1  which I wasn't expecting and some Waterstone's tokens which I was. Still trying to figure out how somebody figured out I'd like the Secret Projects and that I hadn't bout it ?

They've been spying on this forum!

Todays haul so far includes In Memory: A Tribute To Sir Terry Pratchett. Short stories written by his fans all on the theme of memory, proceeds going to Alzheimers Research UK.

A signed copy of Ready Player One. They've just made the movie of this excellent videogame nostalgia story.

Five Go On A Strategy Away Day. Brilliant parody of Enid Blyton's Famous Five tales  ;D

Ready Player One - Best thing I read all year.  Thoroughly recommend it to all.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

A copy of 'The Lightning Boys', a great book, but sadly I already have it.

I may be in a 'swapping situation' if anyone's interested?
I've no idea if I have anything worth swapping?

Yesterday my wife's uncle gave my a copy of a book he raved about to me last year: A Higher Call by Adam Makos.

Without the Auxiilaries they could probably get it down to a flyer in a few years  :banghead: :banghead:
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

My eldest daughter gave me a copy of John Sweetman's 'The Damsbusters' for my birthday, which isn't quite what you might think it is.

It's pretty detailed account of the 1943 raid on the dams, interspersed with an account of the BBC's 21st century 'simulation' of the raid with a modern day RAF crew 'flying' an advanced simulator of the flight. Fascinating stuff, but see my post under the movies thread :- http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,19246.2370.html

The book does a much better job of giving the various crew member's accounts of what happened than anything else I've ever seen, or read.

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Sadly, such occasions are outnumbered by the VAST amount of things they get totally 110% WRONG!  :banghead: :banghead:
