Anybody here ever did a 917 racer?
That being said, I'd like to remind everybody in a manner reminiscent of the SNL bit on Julian Assange, that no matter how I die: It was murder (even if there was a suicide note or a video of me peacefully dying in my sleep); should I be framed for a criminal offense or disappear, you know to blame.

When I was a kid, a 1/32 Matchbox kit IIRC.

Fujimi do a 1/24 917K but it's not wide enough at the rear, Airfix did a 1/32 model of the same car as Fujimi. Union did a 1/20 kit of the long tail 917 but if it's like the Union models I have it won't fit very well. The Matchbox kit that Hobbes mentioned is the fearsome open bodied 917-10 as raced in the CanAm series.

There's loads of addons for the Fujimi kit out there too, as it's the pick of the bunch.

Oh yes, it's spelt Porsche..............  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Airfix did/does a 1/32 scale one, I converted it to run on my Scalextric back in the late 60's/70's

I had a Revell Chaparral slot racer which had nice wide tires(tyres), sort of like a foam rubber, which fitted the Porche perfectly
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Heller did one in 1/24, reboxed by Union in Japan like other Heller kits, also boxed by Testors and Protar..

Here's a list:

Here you go Hannah.

1/24 Fujimi Porsche 917.  The classic blue/orange gulf racing livery as raced at Le Mans 1970.
$US 20 plus postage from Japan.  Just click here to order one.

Its moulded in pale blue so you won't even need to paint it.  I eagerly await the pictures of your build.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
