This will be a heavily modified KP MiG-15 in 1/72 scale.

The wings will be moved to the shoulders and the tail surfaces lowered to the fuselage. The main undercarriage will also have to be moved from the wings to the fuselage and "additional equipment" will also be added to the wing /fuselage area. Lots of work will be involved but nothing that the old KP kit can't take, weather I can follow through with the build is another matter though  :-\

Sounds interesting. I'm picturing a Lavochkin La-15 type of look to it.
It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth.

This sounds great! With all that extra ground clearance beneath the wings, maybe a GA version? What's Russian for 'bomb truck'?  ;)

It says 'бомба грузовик' here............ ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Think more along the lines of Огонь делает грузовик

Construction has started, just the wings but its started  ;D

There was a problem though. As I am moving the wings from mid-fuselage to the fuselage shoulder, the undercarriage also has to be moved, thus the undercarriage bays in the wings need to be filled.

Remarkably the old KP kit has fairly thin wheel well bay doors which meant that I needed to pack out the area to save on filler

As with my other recent builds, its a start. Next I will be painting the cockpit so I can start work on the fuselage and the undercarriage bay I have to make.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The one thing the early KP kits weren't short of were rivets, their Mig19 is positively BURIED in them, as well as a liberal quantity of air scoops, all of which you have to glue on independently!

Dear God yes! If I ever build mine I guarantee it will be a fictional plane from a fictional manufacturer that abhored the airscoop!
