I give up, I've tried three times to reply to this and it always comes out rubbish.  :banghead: :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Would die for a 1/48 F4U prototype  Maybe I'll skip off an email to Hobbyboss.

Ditto, except I need it in 1:72.
All hail 1:72!

The German stuff is sexy because the What If narrative is a scare story: "What if the Nazis actually managed to get all this cool stuff into service? Man, we came this close to losing the war!"

Turn this around.  What about a decent Vickers Windsor, or a Victory Bomber, or Barnes Wallis' Wild Goose?  There were a fair number of wacky ideas on the Allied side too.  For the armour chaps, an Excelsior, or a Black Prince  or even a Giant Panjandrum.  There's plenty to go at :-

There was a reason why each remained only a prototype.  The Excelsior was an excellent looking vehicle but drove like crap, according to the test reports.  It was in Fletcher's "Towards a Universal Tank" that they apparently used to trot it out to show how things could go badly wrong with an otherwise excellent looking tank design.  The Black Prince was severely underpowered (a common problem for Allied tanks).   It too drove like crap.   And as for the Grand Panjandrum the less said the better!!!

Thats the real problem with the 1946 stuff for the Germans.  They lost and all their test reports were lost as well, otherwise we'd know just how bad the Maus, E-100 and so on were!   :banghead:

Absolutely. I've always thought of them as self drive defensive works. Drive them to the front (as long as there are no bridges to be crossed), dig them in, hold the line for a few days and then repeat a few miles back with another one  :banghead: Are you really waiting for the "wonder weapon" to turn up or just hope to wear down your enemy in the hope of getting "terms" ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
