A big pair of Bristols

The Wooksta!

Actually, three.

If you've been following my "Not a Spitfire" blog, you'll know I've finished a trio of Blenheims, based on ye olde Frog kit.  Here's the result.

Firstly, my favourite of the trio, a Blenheim I courier, on the Gibraltar-Malta run.  Base kit, but with teh turret removed and a load of filler inserted.

Next, a Blenheim If, used for attacking Italian ports by night post Tarranto raid, saying "We know where you are and can get you at any time."  Base kit but with the addition of a set of resin sand filters.  Really, given the middle east setting, the courier should have got them too.

Finally, a Blenheim If in a nightfighter scheme with 54 OTU.  Basically, I just wanted to see what a Blenheim would look like in a non-Night scheme.  Not too pleased with it bit it's not that bad and I think I'll live with it.

Not my favourite variant of the Blenheim but you've done the Blenheim I justice, for sure!

From the FROG kit?  :o

Nice jobs, all of them, especially with that kit as a source.

The Frog kit is actually pretty decent, although the old Airfix one does have the edge in places.

The ones I have must be either very late FROG ones or well over-flashed NOVO re-pops.

I've got the Modelcraft boxing of the Frog Blenheim which actually has two complete kits in it. It doesn't have any flash although I did get replacement vac' canopies for them

Very nice.

Not enough whiffed Blenheims. Got an Airfix MKIV in the stash I must whip out this year sometime.
Whatever.

As I recall,  there was a reference in hitchhikers guide to  Eccentrica Gallumbits   delivering "the best bang since the big one"    Is this meant as a comment on the bombing skills of Blenheim crews?

Nice one..err.. three....

Now I DO prefer the early Blenheim from a purely aesthetic point of view, despite it's practical weaknesses, because it's still possible to see the original high-speed low-drag courier/exec plane idea in it's lines. The Mk.IV on the other hand, just looks like A.N.Other bomber.

I have a Revell(?) Mk.I in the stash which is intended to get Spanish Republican colours at some point.

I was expecting Sid & Babs - Carry on bombing?

Very good.  I like the night fighter best.  Prolly due to the "odd" camo.
I have the current Airfix Mk 1 in the stash and no ideas other than vague thoughts about getting it as close to the type 142 as possible without moving the wings.

Eccentrica Galumbits is also described as "the triple breasted whore of Eroticon 6".
"A pair if big Bristols" which turns out to be three of them.

The connection should be obvious.
