I've ordered another
For a Me-509 Zwilling? No? Let me dream...
That's the Me 609 Tophe and RS do 2 versions of it
The Me-609 is a Me-309Z not 509Z as far as I know.
In 1998 I drew a Me-509Z in my book "Forked Ghosts" but it has never been built I think, even 1/72nd. ;)

I don't find the plane itself very interesting but OTOH, i like that camo a lot, great job!

That's certainly different Chris.

LOVE the spinner!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yes you are right Tophe. I just had another look and from the cockpit position it is a Me 309Z

Yup it's an ungainly looking bird. I can claim no credit for the camo as it's one of the options (although as a Luftwaffe bird) featured in, indeed on, the RS boxing.

LOVE the spinner!

Yup decided to keep the Hungarian theme going  ;) Was going to do a complete red/white/green job on the tail feathers but then looking at various pictures realised that the Hungarians had really cut back on the display of their national colours by this stage of the war. Indeed some 109's and 190's didn'y show them at all, but I wanted something so stuck with the rudder  ;D

That's a lovely scheme and the spinner is inspired  . Well worth the wait.

Dizzyfugu

Interesting scheme - and I like the spinner, too.
The Hungarian flag colors could also have been applied to the stabilizers, adding even more color.

You can claim the credit of doing a very nice job painting it!

Almost did so Dizzy. I've a few other Hungarian AF aircraft where I've done that. They continued to use full colour tail's until quite late in the war, probably because they didn't over paint them, but aircraft they received late 44, early 45 seem to have cut back on the national colours, although not in all cases.

Very nice finish. I like the idea very much.
Must think about some other Hungarian options.....

There's quite a lot you can go with considering they flew, and built under license, both German and Italian designs. Also the fact that they continued fighting right to the bitter end gives lots of options. I've even read that a dozen Hungarian pilots were in initial training for the Me 262 when the War came to an end. I've already built their 262, but may well build another when the new tool Airfix kit is out

Meanwhile my alternative Hungarian AF could be getting some captured French types
