just seen this on the BBC site.
looks like a mix of lift fan and thrust vector, for a 10 person biz jet

Hm, yes.

And they '....plan to have a prototype in the air next year...'? Yeah, right..........  :o

The guy talks like it's a new idea. Think Rotodyne...........
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The thing is, a lot of peeps without much actual knowledge/experience are jumping into aviation with big ideas - and those with biiiig money are having a massive (and distorting) impact on the industry because money talks and loud the loud kerchings of technological and business promise distract politicians.  Happens every decade or so but the money involved is biggrr than ever.

Sounds like they are playing of Crandield uni's reputation too. They say they are from cranfield but not the uni and no cranfield logos.

By prototype they could mean a sub scale model. I don't think they appreciate the complexity of ducting hot exhaust gasses. I'm not impressed by the nozzle they briefly showed.
