Ejection seat and rescue markings

When did the red triangle ejection seat decal and the yellow "rescue" arrow begin appearing on US Fighter aircraft?  I don't recall seeing many on Korean War aircraft, but by the mid to late 50s they were on almost all USAF and Navy aircraft.
