Here's the problem with this model project:
a) The Italeri kit is of a fictional Soviet stealth fighter.
b) I based the color scheme on some Ace Combat artwork I saw on the Internet.

c) But I don't want the model to be a Soviet aircraft from the Ace Combat universe if I can help it. Red Star emblems on a red paint scheme won't show up very well, if at all.
d) Any extra decals I put on would need to be black or grey.
e) I have no idea what other roundels, unit markings, insignias, etc. to put on this bird.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Gotta Stay fly

And if people ever figure out how to Mod an Ace Combat, I'd love to see this show up.

All of a sudden, I'm not sure... but I thought I remember hearing that 7 would be on PC as well as console, so........ could very well be a modding community spring up depending on how the producers treat the source code or whatever....  If they "allow" it or what not.

Either way, VERY MUCH looking forward to it...

After much consideration and deliberation, I finally changed some of the decals on my model. The model didn't look so good with the decals I had used previously in the pics back on Page 1 of this thread. I originally didn't want to put this model in a Soviet scheme, but after awhile, I finally had to cave in and do it. I suppose in a small way, the added red Soviet stars and new wolf head emblems do look much better than what I had before.  ;)
Red paint color + new wolf emblems + Blood Wolves squadron name = ONE WICKED AIRCRAFT!

a bit off topic, but there is a small skinning scene for Ace Combat X/JA on the PSP.

I've been thinking of putting wolf emblems on the "insides" of the vertical stabilators, but I haven't fully decided yet.  :-\

Looks like I'm not the only one who thought of making a red MiG-37B.  :o  I found the following:

Got to admit, red looks so much better and fits in nicely with the Soviet regime than the classic and dull black paint job.

Amazingly I found I have TWO of them in The Loft.  :o

No, I haven't checked if they are moulded in black or grey.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
