Well, I have used pre-cut masks before and I would certainly use them again.  For certain subjects ie ones with a lot of glazing and framework, for example a B-24D, they are wonderful and save a lot of time and effort.

Now what I really want is for someone to release a set of wheel masks for the Revell A380, cos that thing has got a lot of wheels, and I ain't looking forward to painting 30 odd tyres!  :dum:

What are these masks for?
Do they mean you don't have to fiddle with dozens of bits of Tamiya tape to stop yourself painting the glass parts?

The short answer Nick, is yes!.

I never got masking to work properly when brush-painting (as I usually do on canopies and wheels). Does anyone airbrush small items like these?

Nope, I always brush paint parts like wheels and stuff. Camopies tend to get masked off VERY CAREFULLY attach it to the fuselage and then airbrush.

I brush paint unless its white/black/NMF in which case I use a Halfords spray can.  But even then I still give all my models a coat of white or grey primer, so I still need to mask the canopy.

Nick - like I said, for heavily glazed/framed pieces of glass they are a lifesaver - unless you like spending hours cutting up dozens of teeny-tiny pieces of Tamiya masking tape

Now the pre-cut camo masks, they really are for lazy modellers with too much money :D
