Whaddya think, lads?

The wheels are on now but not in these shots.

Undercarriage covers and speed brakes are all that's left to attach.

Hiya Toad,

Thanks, mate.

The canopy is from a Mustang kit and I used the salt technique for the first time to get the weathered effect.

Almost finished!

Looking good there, Allan.  Any ideas in mind, yet, for any kind of backstory on it?

 I join to the happy lads clapping their hands... :)
The lasses among us will appreciate too, I am sure. Lyn, Linzi? :)

I think from the side you can't tell its Mig-15 roots.  Nicely weathered too  :)

And is that the Trumpeter 1/24 Fw-190 I spy in the background..........someones come into some money I see!  :D

Love the size of the prop on that thing Al

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Interesting result with the simulated weathering; that might work well for an old ship's hull, too. I'll have to add it to my bag of tricks.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

LOVE IT

At first I wasn't so sure about the size of the tail, but by Jimminy it all fits now with the honken big prop out front.

Hopefully you'll be done to put her in the tennie bopper contest Alan!!!

By the way, Ifmwfo, I have read your so nice letter to my wife, and I had to explain your nick-name... "if his wife discovers he build models of unreal aircraft, this will be divorce"... she smiled, just smiled, and said "No..." Probably, if your wife finds out that you are a what-if modeler, she will kiss you, poor man :)
LOVE EACH OTHER TOO   :)

Hi blokes,

Thanks for your warm praise and encouragement.

Last night I put red heart stickers on the wings and the rudder.

Next step is the undercarriage doors and air brakes.

So on the whole its coming along nicely.

Should be finished in a week or so.

On another point, on Sunday about 15 members of the Canberra hobby club went on an outing to a country town called Temora near Canbera to see the flying day activities.

What happened was that there was a locust storm that grounded all the planes except the Catalina and the Squirrels.

We went home early, after stopping into a couple of country pubs for a few brews and a pie.

I'll post a piccie or two soon.
