I am in need of some 1/72nd scale squadron decals for a future build, an RAF Avro Arrow. I have managed to source some roundels and serial numbers from an E.E. Lightning, but I am in need of squadron markings from the latte 50's to the mid 60's, as well as stencilling ejector seat signs etc. I want to put a lot of effort in to this to make it look right so decals can make all the difference. Also, if anyone has a couple of pairs of redtop's in 1/72nd going spare that would be great. All expenses will be reimbursed, I may also have something to swap.
Cheers,
Chris

Do you have any idea of the squadrons you're looking for? The Modeldecal Meteor and Vampire sheets offer lots of scope there, but I suspect the Vampire one will be too small for the monster that's the Arrow.

If all else fails I could draw up and print some for you.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Considering that the Arrow was at the same time as a TSR2 (give or take a year or so)  ------- maybe a better source

I've got a Hasegawa Lighning F6 on the way.  If the 30 year old decals look viable and are the sort of thing you want (not sure what schemes it comes with) then they are yours.
I also have half of the Airfix F2 Lightning decals if you want.
This scheme.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Brilliant stuff, I am not clued up on RAF squadrons, my RAF book got pinched somewhere along the line so can't really look into that. Google is a pain in the a?£e, for finding proper info. I think a lightning squadron of the early to mid 60's era will be the way to go, and some warning markings from the same era too. The aircraft would have been in service from about say 1959-60.

When the F6 arrives from the internet i'll make a montage of the decals i've got spare and you can tell me which ones you want.
No spare missiles i'm afraid.

Cheers Fred
That will be great. I am looking in to a set of 4 firestreaks as I think they will fit the bill too, along with a pair of Genies, but, I am open to all donations or swaps. I have a load of decals I will never use too
