Fuselage 'inspired' by the old FROG kit, perhaps?

Possibly, but I never built the Frog kit so can't really say.

The Wooksta!

The AZ 162 owes a lot to the Dragon one. Despite some knacka on Facebook saying otherwise.  Enough has been changed to make it legal.

I think a lot of their kits "owe something to something else". Perhaps that's why there's such a disparity in quality across the ranges (both AZ and KP) ranging from their terrific, in my opinion, Tempest V/VI (the Mk II is something else  ) and Me 109's, to things like this and their P-40's. OK but hard work. Then of course there's some of their admitted "re-pops" which can be "interesting   Mind you as ranges I'm quite fond of them for the wide range of subjects they do and I'd like to see them at Telford again, but that's unlikely.

Very interesting project! I really hope to see the final pictures!

I have also built this kit a year ago and it really was hard to work for something that isn't as accurate as Special Hobby's kit. Here is my completed model:

I confirm it has taken a lot of parts and details from Dragon's kit. Some copied parts were infact improved like the elevator. Dragon's kit's elevator has too wide span. AZ model kit's elevator is mostly copied but has the right span, so I used that one in my Dragon kit making my "Nervenklau" look even better.

Here is my building blog: https://www.scalemates.com/profiles/mate.php?id=72957&p=albums&album=94564&i=239#239
I also built the Frog kit and it was unpleasant also though had fewer parts.

That's wonderful   I like the wooden wings and tail planes in particular

Just what Chris said.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Well I picked this up again this morning after I'd sent the debate about "reaching the point of diminishing returns" back to the Upper Chamber and psr has continued. Probably within one more session of paint being applied, so I dug out the Colourcoats I need

To think I origionaly started this as my entry in this year's "One Week Build"

Anyway she is currently laying on her back with her legs in the air, but if she thinks that inducement is going to make me think any differently of her then she's totally mistaken

As you might be able to infer from the above undercarriage legs are attached and glue is drying. The sprue attachment stubs on these are probably at the most awkward place to get to in order to clean up that AZ could of thought of.  :banghead:

Still "progress" albeit slow.
