I've heard rumors the last 2-3 months about a possible new Montana kit coming out, particuarly from Joy-Yard. But I never believed any of it until now. It will be VERY interesting to see how they develop this kit and what the final configuration of the model will be. If I was a betting man, I'd place my money that the model will be in the preliminary design configuration with the amidships boat cranes and boats since that configuration is well known and documented in various books and references.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

That looks fantastic, a WHIF right out of the box, or tons of WHIF potential with updates. Shown next to an Iowa class really puts the size of this monster into perspective.
