So Iran '....developed the jet.....' did it?

I wonder what parts they actually 'developed' that hadn't already been developed by Northop many decades ago?

Shouldn't that be '.....copied the jet....'?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

"Based on" probably means that certain avionics and stuff are newer and "new" means, probably, that it was manufactured from the ground up by them, rather than just another F-5 they have been maintaining for years or glues a second fin onto. A copy, almost exactly perhaps, but the fact that they can now make their own new ones is what the hubbub is about. (I'd assume....)

Sure looks nice, though!!!   ;D

Looks a lot better than the "stealth fighter" they rolled out a few years ago...

I wonder what became of the Saegheh, which looked like an F-5 with twin fins bolted onto the rear in a DIX fashion in which was claimed to have "the attack capability of an F-18"? Ran short on SPAX screws, and now an F-5F copy must suffice, eh?  ;)

It's a time honored tradition in the Middle East - that's how Israel started the Nesher/Kfir family ;D...
